And when one of them is informed of [the birth of] a female, his face becomes dark, and he suppresses grief.
The Saheeh International Quran Translation
وَإِذَا بُشِّرَ أَحَدُهُم بِٱلْأُنثَىٰ ظَلَّ وَجْهُهُۥ مُسْوَدًّا وَهُوَ كَظِيمٌAnd when one of them is informed of [the birth of] a female, his face becomes dark, and he suppresses grief.
